The vinyl has lightly ambered or yellowed due to age. While some may see this as a defect, restorers may see this as an important feature. When restoring vintage artifaces with collection of labels, where one may ned replacement, a crisp dead clear label would look new and totally out of place. The same principle applies if you are attempting to recreate artifacts to look old. This vintage, yellowed, tape could fit right in.
